Helping you comply with
Working Time Directives
Taken from DTI sources, the basic rights and protections that
the UK Regulations provide are:
- a limit of an average of 48 hours a week that a worker can be required
to work (though workers can choose to work more if they want to)
This limit is set in the staff
record field "Maximum Hrs/Week" and can be amended where staff choose to work
more than 48 hours
- a limit of an average of 8 hours work in 24 that night workers can
be required to work
This limit is set for all workers in the staff record field "Hours per rota period"
- a right for night workers to receive free health assessments
Display or print a report
showing all your night workers who may be eligible for health assessment
- a right to 11 hours rest a day
This right is set for all workers in the master settings for your organisation in the field "Min hours between
shifts"
- a right to a day off each week
This right is controlled by the "Consecutive Working Days" in
the staff record, where minimum and maximum
days on and off can be changed
- a right to an in-work rest break if the working day is longer than
six hours
This right is controlled by the number of working hours set in
the shift details. Although the shift length
may be 9 hours long, the working hours are adjusted to allow for break times.
- a right to four weeks paid leave per year
Keep track of holidays booked and taken with the staff calendar. Produce a 'Holiday' report at any time -
all your historical data is available for analysis.
